Journeys
Scroll-driven storytelling with maps: a full-screen cover, then text, media and interactive maps that advance as the reader scrolls.
How a journey is built#
A journey opens with a full-viewport cover and continues as a vertical stack of blocks. Blocks can sit in the reading column, span the full width, or float beside the text. The editor is full-screen with undo/redo, a live reading-time estimate, autosave, and Design, Preview and Publish in the header.
The block types#

| Map | An embedded interactive map — heights from small to full-viewport, static or interactive, with chosen visible layers and an optional legend. |
| Infographic | Stat callouts in a grid. |
| Timeline | A chronological series — waterfall, single-side or condensed, up to 20 entries. |
| Image gallery | A photo set as grid, masonry or carousel — 2–4 columns, 2–30 images. |
| Swipe | Two maps or images compared with an interactive slider — horizontal or vertical, up to full-bleed. |
| Map tour | A guided sequence of places on a map (see below). |
Map tours — three templates#
A map tour walks readers through up to 50 stops, each with a title, address, rich description, media and its own map pin and zoom, optionally connected by a dashed route. Three layout templates:
- Story Rail — a centered reading column steps through stops beside a route map.
- Immersive Map — a full-bleed map with a floating glass card for each stop.
- Editorial Scroll — a long-form article with a sticky map that tracks the scroll.
The cover#
Six cover layouts — three full-bleed (bottom, centre, right) and three split — with image or video media, a focal-point control, overlay opacity, automatic or custom text color, a kicker line, an author byline and an optional logo. A credits section can close the journey.
Design, preview, publish#
Journeys follow your organization’s themes with per-item overrides. Preview shows the reader view; Publish (Publisher or Admin) puts the journey on your-org.orbgis.se/your-journey — see Sharing & publishing. Captions and descriptions are rich text throughout.
